Lilith & Maeve

Note - swearing, w/w, fantasy.

“I love you,” Maeve snarled, tears streaming down her face, worms of light crackled around her, and her red hair haloed around her as hair stood on end. She stood determined, hands clenched at her side, her skirt fluttered around her ankles, moving in a wind Lilith couldn’t feel. Lilith stepped backwards, retreating a step, her jaw falling open.

“But, you’ve always been in a relationship, and they’ve always been boys.” Lilith stammered, Maeve snorted and the crackling worms of light increased.

“There is such a thing as bisexuality, you know.” Maeve snarled, stepping forward, her red hair writhed like snakes. Lilith closed her eyes, her head dropping forward, and her long inky black hair slid forward curtaining her face. She fell to her knees, her blue skirt flaring around her. Maeve stepped closer, towering above the kneeling Lilith. She looked up, hair falling back off her face, silent tears tracked down her face.

“I love you,” she whispered, “I’ve always loved you.” She sobbed, “It’s only ever been you.”

Everything stopped. It was if they’re reached the eye of the storm. The crackles of light had vanished. Maeve’s hair was no longer haloing around her, and Lilith’s neck had stopped pickling.

Maeve dropped to her knees. They were a hairs width apart, their breathing in sync. Lilith raised a shaking hand, and brushed a strand of red hair back behind Maeve’s ear. Maeve leant forward, closing the distance. She softly pressed a kiss against Lilith’s lips.

“I love you too,” she whispered against Lilith’s lips. Lilith smiled as Maeve withdrew,

“I know,” Maeve rolled her eyes and knocked Lilith’s shoulder.

“Fuck you,” Maeve retorted, she stood up and held her hand out to Lilith who took it. They knocked together as Lilith stood, their hands still entwined. “Come on,” Maeve said, leading Lilith to the open door, “we have a war to plan.”
